We actively recruit volunteers to assist with our classes. Volunteers earn free classes while working behind the scenes with our talented chef-instructors.
There are many benefits to volunteering for a class, including:
- Receive the same recipe packet that the students receive
- Sample the wine and food after the class
- Earn one free class for every three volunteer classes (some restrictions apply)
- Learn new cooking tips and techniques
- Have fun!
Volunteer responsibilities include:
- Commit approximately 5 hours of time for each volunteer class, most of which is on your feet.
- Arrive 1 1/2 hours before the class to help prep and set up
- Help plate and serve food, answer questions, replenish drinks, clear dishes and assist students during class
- Clean up at conclusion of class
- Wear close-toed shoes and nice, casual clothing (aprons are provided) and have hair pulled back
- Provide at least 48 hours notice if you are unable to attend a volunteer class
- Have fun!
Our goal is to have 2 volunteers (plus the chef-instructor) at each class (in some cases 3 volunteers) so the work will go easily and quickly for all. It is critical for volunteers to attend the classes they sign up for.
After your third volunteer class, you may choose a class to attend as a student*. As an added bonus, you will receive an official Sagra T-Shirt to wear the next time you assist.
We will assign volunteers on a first come, first served basis; we will contact you by phone or email to select the available class(es) that interest you and fit into your schedule.
To be considered please email us at cook@sagracooking.com of your interest and we will contact you for a brief interview.
